The Portland Timbers reportedly are close to acquiring defender Miguel Araujo from Dutch club FC Emmen.
The Athletic and The Oregonian both reported on the impending signing of the Peruvian center back.
Araujo, 28, has recorded six goals and one assist in 76 matches for Emmen in the Eredivisie.
He has also played at Peru’s Club Alianza Lima, Argentina’s Club Atletico Talleres and Serbia’s Red Star Belgrade.
Internationally, Araujo made his debut with Peru in 2014 and has appeared in 28 matches.
